
One man was wounded by police and two others were taken into custody Saturday after fleeing a suspected robbery at a sporting goods store in Schererville, Indiana.
Schererville police responded about 4:30 p.m. to reports of a robbery at Dick’s Sporting Goods, 101 Indianapolis Blvd., where officers saw three suspects fleeing the area in a vehicle, Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. said.
Their vehicle rammed a police car, and an officer fired a handgun, striking one of the suspects, police said.
The man shot was taken to a nearby hospital. His condition was not released.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the shooting.
