MCHENRY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Northwest suburban police continue their search today of a missing man last seen on Saturday.

28-year-old Gustavo Guzman-Perez, according to McHenry police, has been missing since early Saturday. He was reportedly last seen at around 2 a.m. near a home in the 3000 block of Virginia Avenue.

Guzman-Perez’s family filed a missing persons report that afternoon and police immediately began their search.

Sunday, police along with several other law enforcement agencies and around 60 volunteers thoroughly canvassed 665 acres in and around the McHenry Country Club. Despite the use of an aerial drone and police canines, their search was unsuccessful.

Personnel with the McHenry County Township Fire Protection District also conducted a search on the Fox River, stretching from Route 120 to the McHenry Dam.

Gustavo-Perez, 5’5’’ tall and weighing around 150 pounds, was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark-colored (navy or black) Nike hooded sweatshirt. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police said at this time there is no reason to believe foul play factored into Gustavo-Perez’s disappearance.
