Job fair targets veterans, people with disabilities, and youth in South Loop

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A South Loop social services agency is holding a job fair until 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

The job fair at Ada S. Mckinley Community Services in the South Loop will give employers and potential employees a few hours to get to know each other.

Alici McNeal, Vice President of Community Day Services at McKinley, said this is a targeted mission.

“We at Ada, we wanted to welcome all job seekers from a various amount of backgrounds and with various employment interests,” McNeal said. “And we particularly wanted to focus on populations that are most in need of equal employment opportunities.”

McNeal said several employers will be in attendance, including Rush Medical Center, Roosevelt University, Chicago Urban League, Greater Chicago Food Depository, and the Illinois Department of Human Services.

She said they’ll have a team in place to help applicants with their resumes and explore career options.
