(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Authorities were searching for a stolen car Monday following a pursuit in which a state police trooper was injured.

State police attempted to follow the stolen car on the northbound lanes of I-57 at Sibley Road in Dolton. It was linked to a possible kidnapping, officials said.

The stolen car caused a chain-reaction crash between another vehicle and state police squad car on the inbound Dan Ryan near 87th Street. The trooper reportedly had non-life-threatening injuries.

The stolen car fled the crash scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 847-294-4400, or email at ISP.CrimeTips@Illinois.gov.
