(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Illinois Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi says he's concerned about how divided the country still seems to be over former President Donald Trump and his claims about the 2020 election, but he has some hope.

Krishnamoorthi, D-Schaumburg, said he’s seen the polls showing Trump running strong in the Republican presidential primary, despite three criminal indictments.

He said it's important that the criminal cases against Trump – including his alleged attempts to overturn results of the 2020 election -- move forward and get resolved before November 2024.

He said the American people will do the right thing once they hear all the evidence.

Krishnamoothi is the guest on ''At Issue,” which airs 9:30 a.m.
and 9:30 p.m. Sunday.
