(WBBM Newsradio) -- A west suburban couple have been charged with drug-induced homicide after allegedly selling the drugs that killed a Wheaton man last summer.
It was early August when the body of 32-year-old Nicholas Donzelli was found in his living room.
DuPage County authorities say Donzelli overdosed on drugs that contained fentanyl and that a Glendale Heights couple — 31-year-old Kalvin Beulle and 23-year-old Nicole Cassata — sold him those drugs.
When authorities went to Donzelli’s house for a well-being check, they found him dead on the couch.
Bond has now been set at $100,000 for Beulle and $20,000 for Cassata.
Authorities say there were 112 opioid overdose deaths in DuPage County last year, a 17% increase from 2019.
