(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — An Aurora man has been arrested and charged with threatening the life of Gov. J.B. Pritzker.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office said 46-year old Steven Woletz has been charged with threatening a public official.

According to Illinois State Police, Woletz allegedly called the governor’s office on April 15, left a message full of F-words and threatened to kill the governor.

State police tracked down Woletz and arrested him this week. Bond was set at $100,000. He posted 10% and was released.

Woletz has been ordered to stay away from the Prtizker and the governor’s family, and he was also ordered to have his alcohol-use monitored.

ISP Director Brendan Kelly said: “Being in public service does not give permission to anyone to threaten the lives of public officials or their family.”

Woletz’s next court date is scheduled for May 22.
