This will be the last year for a drive-by holiday light show at a far west suburban house that draws thousands of vehicles, but the man responsible for the spectacle promises something bigger and better.

For 15 years, Brian Larsen has turned his home in Campton Hills into a holiday extravaganza with a spectacular light show timed to popular holiday music.

While the show brings joy to thousands each year, it also generates frustration from visitors who can't stay longer because of the huge crowds.

Larsen says the final straw was when some people took their frustrations on on his three teenage children, who help direct traffic.

“Temperatures boil over and they start yelling at the kids. Then I come in after working the street and my kids are all upset,” he told WBBM Newsradio Tuesday.

Now, he plans to build a replica of his house on a nearby 5-acre site. Starting next year, it will feature even more lights and figures, fire displays, much more room for visitors and better viewing angles.

Larsen says having a dedicated site for his show will allow him to spend more time with his family during the holidays.
