Besides the statewide Workers Rights Amendment question being put before voters in Illinois, voters are also facing a number of other referendums depending on where they live.

In DuPage County, voters are being asked if the county should research and invest in electric vehicle fast-charging stations to provide a revenue stream, which will drive local economic development and promote a healthy environment.

In Orland Hills, a referendum asks whether the village should use half of its cannabis-related tax money to reimburse homeowners for property taxes.

Evanston asks voters whether the city should begin using rank-choice voting for mayor, clerk and city council seats starting in 2025.

In Thornton Township, voters are being asked three questions relating to the township’s late supervisor Frank Zuccarelli, including whether his birthday should be declared a township holiday.

In Des Plaines, voters are being asked whether term limits should be eliminated for aldermen and city clerk, while in Lynwood, voters are being asked whether there should be a term limit of four four-year terms for village president, clerk and trustees.

Voters in Northlake are being asked whether the city should allow people to keep backyard chickens. In Campton Hills, there’s a referendum asking whether the village clerk should be appointed rather than be elected. And in Lake Bluff, the question put before voters is whether the Lake Bluff Park District should turn the Lake Bluff Golf Club into an open wetland and recreation area.
