CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Chicago Department of Transportation is offering information and advice for Chicago drivers in the middle of pothole season.
Mike Drake with CDOT said because of mild winters the past few years, pothole numbers have stayed pretty consistent and that now, crews are focusing on specific areas in the city.
"In coordination with the additional resurfacing from the Chicago works programs, we're targeting more into the areas that have higher pothole numbers, and we're able to get more coverage"
Drake said he encourages drivers to help the department identify potholes through the CHI311 website, App, or by simply calling 311.
"Be on the lookout for any areas that may have potholes but drive in safe conditions and be mindful of our workers in the work zones and drive safely."
He also said if anyone's car has been damaged by potholes, they can contact the city clerk's office to ask about being reimbursed.
