DIXMOOR, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- School is back on today for all students in south suburban Dixmoor.
Martin Luther King Elementary School and Rosa Parks Middle School had been closed Monday and Tuesday, because of a broken water main in the area. The main had been fixed by yesterday, but the schools were still closed because the Illinois Envirnonmental Protection Agency wanted to conduct safety inspections first.
Meanwhile-the water boil order remains in effect for people who live around 147th Street and Leavitt Avenue in Dixmoor. The suburb has had a chronic issue with water mains breaking.
