(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Two women were shot and one was killed early this morning in the River North neighborhood.
It happened at about 1 a.m. at State Street and Kinzie Street.
The two women, 26 and 31, were arguing with a man on the sidewalk, when he pulled out a gun and started shooting.
The younger woman was hit in the chest and died at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The older woman was hit in the thigh and was in good condition.
What led to the shooting is unclear. The man is not in custody.
Typically, detectives would be attempting to track the gunman’s movement with surveillance video, public and private in an effort to identify him.
