CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A young woman was picked up by an Uber driver on June 2 after a night at Clark Street bars.
She fell asleep during the ride and woke up to find that her wrists had been zip-tied while she was in the back seat. Cook County Prosecutors claim the driver, Christopher Molina, then sexually assaulted her in a parking garage.
The Tribune reported the Logan Square resident is charged with aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping and unlawful restraint. A Cook County judge on Sunday ordered Molina to pay a full $250,000 cash bail. He’s due back in court August 29.
Describing the incident as “deeply disturbing,” a spokesperson for Uber told the paper Molina had been banned from the app.
