CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Police Department has released photos and surveillance video showing two suspects wanted in connection to a murder on the CTA Red Line on Saturday just after 2 a.m.

Police said the murder took place in near 79th Street Station.

After the suspects allegedly had a conversation with the victim on the train, police said, “One of the offenders brandished a handgun and shot the victim, subsequently killing him.”

The victim, a 29-year-old man, was struck in the chest and abdomen. He was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, police said.

Police video does not show the shooting. It shows two suspects sitting on a CTA train. As they stand up, one of the suspects reaches into his black jacket.

The other suspect has his hands in his pocket.

Chicago police have asked anyone with information regarding the suspects to contact Area Two Homicide Detective Evans at 312-747-8271.
