(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Snow was expected to continue late Thursday across the Chicago area before tapering off, with chilly temperatures forecast for Friday followed by a warmup Saturday.

Travel conditions could be treacherous Friday for commuters winding down their work week because of snow totals of up to 3 inches in the city and suburbs and up to 6 inches closer to the Wisconsin border.

Northwest Indiana could see worse conditions.

Friday’s high was expected to be 29 degrees. But temperatures will rise to 45 on Saturday and the high 40s on Sunday.
