CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Waukegan woman is charged with attacking a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.
The sheriff’s office said a deputy pulled over a car near Sunset and Lewis avenues in Waukegan at around 1:45 a.m. and while he was arresting Viviana Mora for DUI, the 25-year-old allegedly attempted to kick out the windows of the back of the squad car and took off her seatbelt.
As deputies tried to put it back on, the Sheriff’s office said Mora headbutted one of them. She continued to act belligerent at the Lake County Jail and was combative so correctional staff pepper sprayed her.
Mora faces multiple charges including aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting arrest and DUI.
The deputy was treated by paramedics for minor injuries to his face.
