CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Louisiana woman who grew up in Chicago has taken out an ad in a Chicago paper, hoping to find the brother she lost touch with almost three decades ago.
The small ad in the Chicago Sun-Times classifieds says: “Looking for Lawrence C. Turney. It’s urgent! Please call your sister.”
Sue Turney Montgomery is the sister.
“I don’t even know if my brother’s alive or dead,” she told WBBM Newsradio on Friday. “I just need to know.”
She says she’s been looking for her brother Larry ever since their father died.
“He died in 2005, and my brother wasn’t at the service,” the sibling said. “And that’s when I started hunting him down, trying to find out where he was at, and I could never find him.”
Now she has a new reason to find him. She said she’d like to tell him their mother passed away a month ago.
“And I just want him to be around, you know? Because our family’s getting smaller and smaller.”
Her brother, Larry Turney, would be 58 now.
