A state of emergency has been declared for Dallas County in an effort to help everyone stay warm.

Dallas County judge Clay Jenkins is asking all manufacturing and industrial businesses that use electricity to close, and to shut down any non essential processes or operations.

Also all other non essential businesses are being asked to open at 10:00 a.m. to help conserve.

All this is done in an effort to conserve emergency resources.

Jenkins says everyone should be setting their thermostat to no higher than 68 degrees.

The vaccine hub at Fair Park will be closed as well.
