LAKE FOREST (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A person was wounded in a shootout Wednesday night during a road rage incident in Lake Forest in the north suburbs.
The drivers of two cars stopped at a red light and got into a “heated exchange of words” that led to shots being fired by both parties, Lake Forest police said in a statement.
The shooting happened about 8 p.m. at Route 41 and Route 60.
Officers responded and found one male lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said. He was taken to a hospital for treatment. A handgun was recovered.
Police said the other suspect’s vehicle, a white Dodge Charger, was last seen going west on Route 60, police said. The car possibly has a damaged rear window.
