CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- All due respect to the Chicago Sky, who might well win their first championship at home this weekend (and who really deserve your attention)...

...the Game of the Week is Bears-Packers, because it has to be, because it always is. Bears fans and the team itself get hyped up for Green Bay's yearly visit - and more often than not, at least of late, they also get let down.

Consider:

• Green Bay has won nine of the last 10 meetings between the teams.
• Green Bay's two wins over the Bears last year came by a combined 35 points.
• The Bears did beat Green Bay at home in 2018, by a touchdown. It was the first home win for the Bears against the Pack since 2010.
• Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is 20-and-5 against the Bears in his career, which is a better record than he has against either the Vikings or the Lions.

Now, all is not lost. The Bears showed a ground-and-pound game in the win over Las Vegas that would at least allow them to control the clock, if nothing else. Justin Fields will be good to go, and Green Bay's defense is middle-of-the-pack at best, so there's certainly a chance Fields gets a signature win in his first shot at the Packers.

But Rodgers is still Rodgers, and Davante Adams and Aaron Jones and all the rest of the Green Bay skill players present particular problems that trip up even the best teams.

Whatever happens, remember, you'll hear it from Jeff Joniak and Tom Thayer on The Home of the Bears, Newsradio WBBM - 780 AM, 105.9 FM, and on the Audacy App.
