LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) Bears second-year safety Jaquan Brisker is trending toward playing in Chicago's season opener against Green Bay on Sunday at Soldier Field.

Brisker, who has missed nearly a month of action with an undisclosed injury, was present with the Bears for the period of practice Monday that was open to viewing for reporters. Coach Matt Eberflus also expressed optimism in Brisker's status.

"He is right there," Eberflus said. "He is progressing. Wednesday is going to be a big day for him, but it looks on the positive side."

Eberflus has declined to discuss injury specifics throughout the course of the preseason. The Bears are required to issue their first formal injury report Wednesday.

Bears receiver Chase Claypool and right guard Nate Davis, who each missed a significant portion of the preseason, were among those present for practice Monday. Veteran linebacker Dylan Cole wasn't wearing a helmet for practice, an indication that he's still dealing with an injury.

The Bears host the Packers on Sunday, with kickoff set for 3:25 p.m. CT at Soldier Field.
