It marked the first time in the shot-clock era (since 1954-’55) that a team lost by 14 points or more after leading by 14 points or more entering the fourth quarter, according to ESPN Stats & Info. The Celtics led 103-89 entering the fourth quarter, only to watch the Bulls outscore them by a 39-11 margin in the final 12 minutes.
The Bulls were dominant late, shooting 81.2% from the field in the fourth quarter (13-of-16) while the Celtics shot 21.7% (5-of-23). Chicago also held a 16-3 rebounding advantage in the frame.
The Bulls are now an NBA-best 6-1 after the victory. Chicago visits Philadelphia on Wednesday evening.
