(670 The Score) Following a win in their home opener Thursday, the White Sox received the one-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccinations that covered their traveling party "well in excess of 90%," general manager Rick Hahn said.

The White Sox organization as a whole hasn't yet reached the 85% vaccination threshold for all tier-1 employees -- including those at the Schaumberg alternate site -- which would allow them to relax COVID-19 protocols. But it's anticipated the organization will surpass that mark soon, Hahn said.

"We're all really pleased," White Sox manager Tony La Russa said. "It's a good sign of togetherness."

Those who received their shots Thursday won't be considered fully vaccinated until two weeks following their shots. Other members of the organization, including Hahn and La Russa, had already received their vaccinations prior to Thursday.

The White Sox coordinated their vaccinations with the city of Chicago, the city's public health department and Rush University Medical Center. In doing the vaccinations Thursday after the game, the White Sox planned around their scheduled off day Friday in case of potential side effects from the vaccines.

After having Saturday's game postponed due to rain, the White Sox will have all their players available when they host the Royals on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. CT at Guaranteed Rate Field.
