Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - An end of an era in Orchard Park is one step closer to reality, as the Buffalo Bills unveiled a logo bidding farewell to Highmark Stadium on Tuesday.
"The 2025 Buffalo Bills season will mark the end of an incredible chapter at Highmark Stadium. As we prepare to continue our legacy at our new location across the street, we will create lasting memories during our Farewell Season," the team said in a statement.
Merchandise will be revealed at a later date, paying tribute to the stadium including t-shirts, outerwear, hats and collectibles.
The logo will also be worn as a patch on the Bills' uniform during a single home game this coming season. The team says that game will be revealed at a later date.
“Hey Ralph Wilson, we’re moving across the street. We’re going to build a stadium here, and we’re going to tear down a stadium over there that’s full of memories. So, we need to fill this stadium with more memories and continue our legacy. We should remember the past, but embrace the building of our future,” said Bills owner Terry Pegula.
The Bills began playing at the stadium, then known as Rich Stadium, in 1973. The building has since taken on the nickname "The Ralph" after being renamed Ralph Wilson Stadium in 1998. That name stuck until New Era bought naming rights for the stadium in 2016.
Following New Era, the stadium briefly took on the name "Bills Stadium" for the 2020 season.
The Bills have nine home games in 2025. We'll know the dates of the final home games at Highmark Stadium after the NFL releases its 2025 schedule Wednesday evening.
The team is set to begin play at the new Highmark Stadium in 2026.
