Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - It didn't take long for some Buffalo Bills fans to turn to Change.org and host a petition voicing opposition to a newly announced plan to mandate COVID vaccinations in order to attend Bills games during the upcoming season.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced the plan during a routine county COVID briefing Tuesday, saying, "Our goal is to have a 100% full house for the Bills and the Sabres starting in the fall...that's ensuring everyone who enters that facility, the fans and the staff, are fully vaccinated."

Now, an online petition has been started and asks the Buffalo Bills and Terry Pegula to authorize their attorneys to sue against the order.

In a press release late Tuesday, petition organizer Tim Walton notes the law firm Lipsitz, Green, Scime & Cambria have represented the Buffalo Bills in the past and they're the same attorneys that represented Orchard Park gym owner Robby Dinero in his court victories over New York State.

The Buffalo Bills issued a statement indicating they would continue their practice of following all guidelines set forth by the state and county in order to make the stadium safe for fans.

As we did last year, we will continue to cooperate and comply with all New York State and local government regulations regarding our sporting events," the statement reads.

The petition quickly attracted the attention of Instagram model Rachel Bush, wife of Buffalo Bill Jordan Poyer.
