ORCHARD PARK (WBEN) - Although the news broke Monday, the Buffalo Bills officially announced Tuesday that they've reached a stadium naming rights deal with Highmark BlueCross BlueShield of WNY, meaning the home of the Bills will now be known as Highmark Stadium.
"We wanted to make sure that we found a partner, not that could just put a name on a building, but also could be really someone we felt was a partner in our values and our commitment to this community," said Bills Owner/President Kim Pegula. "We found those qualities in Dave Anderson and his leadership team at BlueCross BlueShield."
According to both the team and Highmark, the two entities will "work together towards enhancing regional health and wellness through various activation opportunities.
"It's no secret that the Bills are a beloved institution in Western New York, and what better way for Highmark to show that we plan to continue to be a part of the fabric of this community by this partnership," said David Anderson, CEO of Highmark BlueCross BlueShield of WNY.
When asked about specifics of the sponsorship agreement, a spokesperson for the Bills noted that the team does not make details of sponsorship deals public information.
