AG releases video from trooper-involved fatal shooting in Buffalo
Video is graphic and contains strong language
Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - New York State Attorney General Letitia James has released body cam video from a New York State Trooper-involved fatal shooting that occurred in downtown Buffalo last month.
The video is part of an ongoing investigation into the death of James Huber, 38 of North East, Pennsylvania, on February 12, 2022, following an encounter with a trooper resulting from a lengthy high speed chase on the thruway and I-190.
In the video, which is highly graphic and contains strong language, Huber is sitting in a vehicle and is confronted by Trooper Anthony Nigro when he refuses to exit the vehicle, speeds away and is shot by Nigro.
"Get out, get out," Nigro shouts to Huber before he sped away and was shot by the trooper.
The release of the footage follows James' directive that videos obtained by her office in the course of investigations conducted by the Office of Special Investigation be released to the public in order to increase transparency and strengthen public trust in these matters.
The investigation continues and following is video from the high speed chase.
