McKinley High School to welcome all students back Monday

The McKinley Community reviewed all implemented safety measures and determined that the reset plan is solid

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Plans to get students back for in-person learning at McKinley High School have been accelerated from the original plan.

The Buffalo Public School District announced on Saturday that McKinley High School will now be welcoming all students back in-person for to class starting this Monday, March 7.

The original plan for McKinley's return of students would have seen kids go one more week of a phased return by grade level. It would have seen seniors in school on Monday, followed by juniors on Tuesday, sophomores on Wednesday and freshmen on Thursday. It would have been Friday, March 14 that originally saw all students returning to McKinley for in-person classes.

Here is an official statement from the Buffalo Public School DIstrict:

"The McKinley Community worked tirelessly to ensure there was a plan in place to keep the students, faculty and staff safe.

"The schedule for the second week was a “potential” schedule in the event that the McKinley Community needed additional time. Each day at the end of day, the team collaborated to address areas that needed to be tightened up.

"As of Friday, March 4, at the end of the day, the team met and reviewed all implemented safety measures and determined that the McKinley Reset Plan is solid."
