Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Even with the pivotal final regular season game ahead of them, Bills playoff fever is running hot and many in the Bills Mafia are interested in getting their hands on tickets to Sunday's division-deciding game between Buffalo and Miami.
Fans may also find getting down to the sunshine state won't be cheap.
The first step for many is getting tickets to Sunday night's prime time tilt. Nick Giammusso says the nosebleeds are going for $450 each on secondary ticket sites. "There are about 2,000 tickets floating around in the secondary market right now. Whether those are going to get scooped up today and then drive prices higher, that's that remains to be seen," says Giammusso. He anticipates most of the demand will come from the visiting side.
Giammusso anticipates the peak of the demand will come Wednesday. "I would wait to buy, you know live would check prices again on Wednesday and see if prices are coming up or going down. That's a good indication by Wednesday," advises Giammusso. He believes prices have been leveling off.
AAA's Elizabeth Carey says flights to Miami this weekend are pricey. "You're talking about last minute flights with limited availability coming off the holiday season," says Carey. She notes other fans circled this date on the calendar when the schedule came out and already made plans. For last minute travelers, round trip flights could go about $700.
Driving could be more economical. "It's more than 19 hours," says Carey. But if you and a few friends want to take turns driving to Miami, it will set you back $167 in gas. Hotels may be the easiest part of the package. "Hotels are plentiful in the Miami area," notes Carey with prices starting at $175 per night.
Carey says flexibility in your playbook can lead to savings in the pocketbook. "Add a couple of days on to the beginning or the end and enjoy some time at the beach and that's going to make it more of a vacation for you," advises Carey.
