Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - If you liked Monday, you're in for a repeat treat Tuesday, forecasters tell WBEN.
After shattering the old record of 63 degrees with a 72-degree reading at the airport weather station Monday, the thermometer will be near record levels Tuesday.
"Unseasonably warm," National Weather Service meteorologist Tony Ansuini tells WBEN. "More typical of early June than early March."
Ansuini tells us the temperature today will be at or above record warmth. "The record high today(Tuesday) is 68, we should make it right around to 70 degrees ... we should be able to nudge above the previous record."
Things will begin to change somewhat Tuesday night as a cold front approaches the Western New York region. "Showers should hold off until very late in the day today," Ansuini tells WBEN. A better chance of showers develops late Monday and into Tuesday. "That'll bring an end to this unseasonable warmth. We'll see a cooling trend through the end of the week, but still remaining above normal for at least early March."
So, let's put the snow blower and snow brushes away, right? Not so fast, cautions Ansuini.
Above normal temperatures are forecast through at least early March, Ansuini says. But? "Still could be some bouts of colder air, and perhaps some accumulating snow as we move through the end of the month. I wouldn't put anything away just yet."
