Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - A Winter Storm Warning has been canceled for the Western New York region after 6 to 9 inches of snow accumulated overnight.
Accumulations were held down slightly due to some warmer air within the system and some sleet mixed in with snow. Higher accumulations are being recorded in Niagara County where generally 9 inches of snow fell and closer to 6 inches across much of the Buffalo metro area.
As this storm system retreats, WBEN First Alert meteorologist Heather Zehr tells us the widespread cold continues across the region. "We are definitely going to stay on the colder side, temperatures only in the 20's, dropping down into single digits for tonight."
Another snow system will impact the region beginning Thursday, followed by the potential for lake effect snow into Friday.
