The white car crashed on Bloomfield Avenue, near Ridgewood Avenue, in Glen Ridge around 5 a.m.

It appears the vehicle rolled down an embankment and into a park, possibly flipping over several times before stopping on its side near a tree by the Glen Gazebo.

The crash left at least two people dead, but as many as four may have been killed. White sheets were seen covering several areas on the grass.

The car was the only one involved in the crash, which appeared to be the result of a police pursuit.

The New Jersey Attorney General's Office took over the investigation. The Essex County Prosecutor's Office was also at the scene.

Bloomfield Avenue was closed both ways at Ridgewood Avenue amid the investigation.
