NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A body was discovered inside a burning car on Tuesday night in the driveway of a Riverhead home, according to reports.

Newsday reports that when Riverhead Town police officers and members of the city's fire department responded to the 10:34 p.m. report of a fire at a home on Sebastian Drive, they discovered a car "fully engulfed" in the driveway with flames spreading to an exterior wall of the home and a nearby dumpster.
Officials then found the body inside the vehicle when the flames were extinguished.
NBC 4 reports that police haven't released any information about who the body might be. The medical examiner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the victim's identity and cause of death.
The Riverhead Detective Division and the Suffolk County Police Arson Unit are assisting in the investigation.
Riverhead Police are asking anyone with information to call their department at 631-727-4500.
