Travis Leiby, 34, and Brittany Murdza, 32, are charged with murder, firearm and burglary charges for the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Starquasia Harris, NJ.com reports.

Harris was killed in her Elm Street residence during a home invasion in January 2020, which police reportedly said at the time was targeted.

Court records, obtained by the outlet, said Leiby and Murdza went to Harris' home on Jan. 29, 2020, to retrieve some possessions from a relative who had allegedly gotten into a dispute with Harris the day before over the debt.

Leiby and Murdza told cops in interviews that they were on the Elm Street block just before the crime, but drove away before the gunfire, authorities said in court records. Witnesses said they had seen the siblings return, and a man who fit Leiby's description was seen entering Harris' house and firing a gun.

The charges said they both refer to each other as "siblings" due to her mother and his father being in a former, long-term relationship. Both are from Trenton but lived in Philadelphia in early 2020, according to the report.

Leiby and Murdza were arrested in July 2020 and indicted in July 2021.

Both are in custody at county jails awaiting court appearances in Superior Court of Mercer County.
