The toddler had wondered away from a trampoline at in home in Belleville around 10 a.m., and fell into the in-ground pool, police said.
Family members were able to get her out and started CPR while driving her to a local hospital where she regained consciousness and is being treated, according to authorities.
“Belleville police would like to remind our residents to always remain vigilant when children are in or around swimming pools,” Det. Lt. John McAloon said in a statement.
He added “Thankfully family members were present and aware as a tragedy was certainly averted.”
