The 27-year-old, Christopher Nunez, spent months last year engaging young people online, coercing them into documenting sex acts and then eventually meeting up with them to sexually assault them, according to court documents.

“Christopher Nunez’s conduct is the nightmare of any parent,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said. “Today’s sentencing illustrates that we will continue to use every tool available to law enforcement to prosecute and punish those who sexually exploit children.”

Nunez targeted his first victim, a 12-year-old girl from Kentucky, in January 2021. When he first started engaging the girl, she was 11-year-old and in the 6th grade. For months, Nunez would persuade the girl to perform sexually explicit activities and capture photos and videos of it. He then had her send the content to him. In March, Nunez went to Kentucky to meet the victim and sexually assaulted her, officials said.

Not long after, Nunez went on to engage a 15-year-old from New York, beginning in March 2021 He once again persuaded the victim to meet up with him and traveled to New York from Miami to sexual abuse her, authorities said.
Nunez also coerced a 16-year-old New Jersey victim into sending him sexually explicit photos and videos.

In May of 2021, Nunez was charged with rape and endangering the welfare of a child. He pled guilty to rape in October. In February, Nunez pled guilty to a federal charges of enticement and sexual exploitation.

In addition to the prison term, Nunez was sentenced to a lifetime term of supervised release.
