VALLEY STREAM, LI (WCBS 880) — Long Island's Green Acres Mall went into lockdown on Monday afternoon after a person was shot in the leg, authorities said.

Nassau County Police told ABC 7 the victim was shot in front of the counter at a Famous Footwear store just after 4:30 p.m., taking cover behind the counter.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital.
Authorities believe the victim and the shooter knew each other and the incident occurred after a minor verbal altercation.
Police are still investigating and no arrests have been made as of yet.
