Shane Nicholas, 23 was pulled over in Valley Forge on Saturday around 7 p.m. because the car had illegally tinted windows, officials said.

When police found a gun in the car, they attempted to place Nicholas and his passenger, 24-year-old Kai Williams, under arrest.

Nicholas shoved the officer’s hand away and fled on foot, according to authorities. When an officer gave chase, he reportedly elbowed him in the head, knocking him to the ground.

After attacking the officer, he fled into a stranger’s home, police said.

Nicholas was charged with assault, burglary, resisting arrest and obstruction of government administration. Williams faces weapons charges.

The officer who took an elbow to the head was treated for minor injuries.
