NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 14-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach in an unprovoked subway assault in Queens on Wednesday morning, police said Thursday as they released images of a suspect.

The teen was on the 7-line platform at the 90th Street–Elmhurst Avenue station in Elmhurst around 8:40 a.m. when the stabber targeted him, according to police.
The suspect took out a sharp object, stabbed the boy in his abdomen and then fled, police said.
No words were exchanged between the two during the attack.
The assailant fled the station in an unknown direction, police said. Images from the NYPD appear to show a masked male in a hoodie running down a sidewalk around the time of the attack.
The teen victim was transported to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was in stable condition.
About a half-hour before the Elmhurst assault, a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in his arm at the Sutter Avenue–Rutland Road station in Brownsville at 8:10 a.m., sources told the New York Post. The teen was hospitalized in stable condition, while his attacker remains at large.
And earlier Wednesday morning, two young men, ages 19 and 20, were stabbed in the neck and torso during a dispute on the southbound 2-line platform at the 135th Street station in Harlem. A suspect was arrested near the scene, police said. The victims were hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
