2 men fatally shot in Brooklyn within 4 hours, 1 mile of each other: NYPD

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two men were shot to death within one mile of each other, and less than four hours apart, in Brooklyn on Monday, police said.

The NYPD continued to investigate the pair of fatal shootings on the border of East Flatbush and Crown Heights on Tuesday. They said no arrests have been made.

The first victim, believed to be in his 30s, was shot around 10:40 a.m. on Empire Boulevard, near Kingston Avenue, police said.

Officers responding to a 911 call found the man unconscious with a gunshot wound to his head.

EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

Just hours later at 2 p.m., a man in his 30s was shot repeatedly at East 51st Street and Remsen Avenue.

The victim was found unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to his body, police said.

EMS rushed him to Kings County Hospital, but he did not survive.

Police haven't said they believe the shootings are connected.

Neither victim has been identified.
