NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD is searching for two men sought in connection with an armed attempted armed robbery in Manhattan on Monday, authorities said.
It happened at 8:17 p.m. in front of 142 East 16th St. in Union Square, a 42-year-old man was approached by the two suspects, officials said.

One suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s cellphone, police said.
No property was taken, the victim was not injured and there were no shots fired.
Both the victim and the suspects fled on foot and an investigation remains ongoing.
