The two officers from the 108th Precinct, Niketa Janios and Marya Cardona Quintero, were stripped of their guns and shields, the NYPS said Saturday.

An investigation is underway to determine whether a crash which left two men dead occurred during a police chase.

Two men were riding the stolen ATV when it slammed into a truck at Queens Plaza South and Jackson Avenue in Long Island City. One man was pronounced dead at the scene while the other later died at New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital.

Police said the men may have been driving the wrong way.

“The incident is under investigation by our Force Investigation Division,” NYPD spokesman Deputy Commissioner Julian Phillips said of the crash.
