3 arrested after police seize 84 lbs. of heroin, fentanyl from NJ drug mill

HUDSON COUNTY, N.J. (WCBS 880) -- New Jersey state troopers arrested three people after they dismantled a drug mill has where nearly 84 pounds of heroin and fentanyl were seized following a two-month-long investigation.

Officials on Monday announced the arrest of Richard Stroman Jr., 38, Jose Acosta, 37, and Miguel Carrasco-Lara, 35, accused of operating a “drug mill” out of two Hudson County homes.

Investigators seized the drugs as well as bulk cutting agents, a digital scale, kilogram presses, several cellular devices and $1,900 cash.

“The take down of the two drug producing mills and as a result of the seizure of these illegal narcotics, we have undoubtedly saved multiple lives, because even the smallest amount of fentanyl is deadly to anyone who comes in contact with it,” said State Police Superintendent Pat Callahan.

Strotman Jr., Acosta, and Carrasco-Lara were charged with maintaining a drug production facility, possession with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, and conspiracy.
