4 EMTs injured after FDNY ambulances collide in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Four EMTs were injured, three of them seriously, when two FDNY ambulances collided in Brooklyn on Monday night, police said.

The crash happened at Union Street and Seventh Avenue in Park Slope just before 10:30 p.m.

Four crew members were injured and taken to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Three of them were in serious but stable condition, while the fourth suffered a minor injury. All of them are expected to survive.

No patients were inside of the ambulances at the time of the crash, according to police.

The force of the head-on collision sent one ambulance into the side of a Bank of America, Citizen App video shows.

The collision didn’t involve any other vehicles, and no pedestrians on the street were injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
