NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A bomb threat forced a large evacuation and the cancellation of classes at York College in Queens on Monday.

Evacuations from the school's nearly half-dozen buildings began around 10:15 a.m. after an anonymous threat was made, according to The Queens Eagle.
A nearby high school was also evacuated, CBS 2 reports.
Hundreds of people reportedly packed underneath the train tracks in Jamaica after the threat was made.
Citizen Video showed dozens lining the streets nearby due to the evacuation.
School officials canceled classes and told everyone to leave campus due to the investigation.
Staff are able to work remotely for the remainder of the day, but the buildings remain closed, officials added.
New York City Councilwoman Nantasha Williams tweeted that police swept the school and said that the threat was unfounded and that the school was given an all clear.
"Law enforcement officials have completed an investigation of the bomb threat that @YorkCollegeCUNY received earlier this morning and have issued an all-clear," she said. "I want to thank law enforcement officials for addressing this circumstance. I hope you all stay safe and remain vigilant."
