NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- Police arrested a suspect they believe was behind last month's broad-daylight attack on an 81-year-old man sitting on a Brooklyn bench.
Anthony Baksh, 32, of Brooklyn, was arrested on two counts of assault and harassment in connection with the random beating in Flatbush on July 27.
He was arrested on Aug. 2, but the NYPD announced his arrest and the charges on Monday.
The victim was sitting on a bench at 1217 Foster Ave. around 3:25 p.m. when a man walked up and punched him in the head repeatedly, according to police.
The suspect fled the area in a black 2021 BMW X6 SUV with California plates, police said at the time.
The victim was taken by private means to Maimonides Medical Center for treatment.
