TRENTON, N.J. (1010 WINS) -- At least six New Jersey schools had COVID-19 outbreaks since the school year began, state officials said Wednesday.

The outbreaks come after about a week of in-person classes in the state for some districts.
Two outbreaks were reported Atlantic County, while one each were reported in Cumberland, Monmouth, Morris and Union counties.
The state is defining an outbreak as when three or more unrelated people test positive in a school setting.
State health officials said the outbreaks were a mix of staff and student cases.
Officials did not release the school names involved or if any classrooms and buildings were shut down due to the outbreaks.
