NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man was assaulted and robbed of $6,000 while sitting on the stoop of his Brooklyn apartment, authorities said.

The incident occurred on May 22 just before 1 a.m. as the 44-year-old victim was in front of his building talking on the phone around Bay Ridge Avenue and 13 Avenue in Dyker Heights, police said.
A man approached the victim and, without provocation, pushed him to the ground, kicked and punched him throughout his body, according to cops. He then stole the victim’s cell phone and wallet with about $6,000 in it and fled the scene.
The victim suffered cuts and bruises to his face but refused medical attention at the scene.
The attacker is described as having a medium complexion, medium build, a beard and short dark hair. He was last seen wearing a white surgical mask, a black long sleeve t-shirt with graphics on the front and back, with black jeans and black sneakers.
