NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A badly burned body was found in a burning car in the Bronx on Monday morning—and a witness said he saw the victim walk "into the car, into the fire."

Responding firefighters found the double-parked silver Toyota Camry engulfed in flames at Kelly Street and Intervale Avenue in the Longwood section around 5:30 a.m., according to the FDNY.
Video shows the burning car and thick, black smoke rising over the area at dawn.
Firefighters extinguished the flames and found a body that was charred beyond recognition, the FDNY said.
The fire department is investigating the blaze, but sources said it appears to be an electrical fire. Police said the car was not in a crash.
A man who was exercising at nearby Bill Rainey Park told 1010 WINS that it appeared the vehicle stalled. He tried to warn the occupant not to get back inside, but he ignored him and entered the backseat of the vehicle while the front was on fire.
“It was like a lot of smoke at first, as if the engine was having problems or something like that. And then it just automatically caught fire,” the witness said of the vehicle.
“The gentleman, he just walked into the car, into the fire,” he said. “I don’t know if he was going through anything. I tried to stop him. I was yelling for him and everything.”
“It was on fire on fire,” he said of the car. “The side he got in was on fire. I don’t even know how he got in like that.”
The unidentified body was so badly burned that first responders couldn't tell the sex of the victim, according to sources.
Residents in the area said the victim may be someone in their 30s from the area who would play softball at the park.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire.
