SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. (1010 WINS) — The body of a 25-year-old New Jersey woman who went missing while hiking Friday in Washington state was recovered the next morning, officials said Monday.

According to the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, the victim and her friend were hiking near Wallace Falls when they became separated. Around 8 p.m., park rangers contacted the friend near the trailhead, who reported they became separated and did not know of the friend's location.
The sheriff's office believes both women were under the influence of mushrooms at the time.
Deputies, Search and Rescue, and Fire Rescue teams were dispatched to assist in the search, but the missing woman was not found.
By early Saturday morning, search teams returned to the location and located the victim’s body down river from the Wallace Falls Trail, officials said.
The victim's body was found, and authorities said the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office will determine positive identification as well as the cause and manner of death.
However, the sheriff's office said it appears the cause of death was accidental.
